# How to configure Emergency Offboarding

Sometimes it's necessary to offboard a user quickly or manually, without having to trigger an [offboarding policy](/en/article/creating-an-offboarding-policy-15zeh9t/). That is where the Emergency Offboarding option can be extremely useful.

When configured, the Emergency Offboarding option allows an administrator to run a specific policy against a user, without it having to match the **WORKFLOW** criteria of a policy.

**Configure Emergency Offboarding**

1. [Create an Offboarding Policy](/en/article/creating-an-offboarding-policy-15zeh9t/) and active it. This would typically be your general company offboarding policy.

2. From within the "Settings" section select the policy from the above step and SAVE.

3. From the User Menu select **Emergency Offboard**

4. The selected user will be offboarding using the preconfigured policy.
