Why does delegation fail after I reset a user password?

Google Workspace blocks delegation when the "Change password at next sign-in" flag is enabled. This security feature prevents any account access—including Patronum's delegation management—until the user completes their password change.


Delegation will not work while the password change flag is active. The user must log in and complete the password reset before delegation features become available.


How to fix it

Choose one of these options:

Option 1: Uncheck the flag during password reset

  1. In Google Admin Console, go to the user's account
  2. Click Reset password
  3. Uncheck Ask for a password change at the next sign-in
  4. Save the new password

Option 2: Have the user complete the password change

  1. User signs in to their Google account
  2. User completes the forced password change
  3. Delegation access resumes automatically


After the flag is cleared or the user logs in, Patronum can manage delegation immediately. No additional configuration needed.
